I have always been fascinated by trees. For me, they represent strength. This series was motivated by a feeling of helplessness when my friend was hospitalized during the pandemic for a non-COVID-related illness. I could not visit her and was told that she was not able to receive flowers.
So the idea of making a picture of a tree came to mind - something that is lasting and symbolizes strength. I have been making them ever since.
